Trump again refused to rule out attacking Venezuela today.
The difference is that the USS Gerald R. Ford strike group is now arriving. This armada includes destroyers, dozens of aircraft, and thousands of soldiers. They’re linking up with a sizeable attack force already there. U.S. based aircraft are also within attack range.
No one knows if this is saber-rattling, but 75 people are already dead from 19 vessel attacks without any evidence of their wrongdoing offered. Colombia’s leadership today halted intelligence sharing between the two countries and has called for Donald Trump to be investigated for war crimes. The UN has also condemned America’s attacks in the region.
Call your representatives now. Tell them no war without congressional authorization. The War Powers Act exists for exactly this reason.
