What Happened Today – June 14, 2026

Five hundred nights ago, ten days into Trump’s second term, I started dropping headlines into my family’s group chat because I was scared by how fast the norms were coming apart.

The next day I put them on my Facebook page. The day after that I posted them again and told everyone that since they’d gone a little gaga over it, I’d keep it coming if they wanted. They did. Friends shared it, then strangers did, and the thing took on a life I never planned for.

I’m still the same guy who started this. I still believe the Trump administration is the biggest threat to America I have seen in my life, and I sit down every night to get it on the record. Five hundred nights, and I have never missed one.

People often ask if they can send a few dollars to help, and I always tell them no. This is how I resist.

I’ve been writing all my life and can do this myself, so it costs nothing but my time, and that’s mine to give. It’s free. It always has been, and it always will be. And I’ll only ever ask you for your email address.

But on night five hundred, I’m asking for a present. If you don’t subscribe, please do it now. If you already subscribe, bring one person with you who needs this and doesn’t know it exists yet.

Five hundred down. We keep going.
