What Happened Today – August 10, 2026

Donald Trump overrode virtually every medical scientist on Earth today.

His executive order cuts the vaccines recommended for every American child to 11 and drops hepatitis and meningitis protection for most kids, in the middle of America’s worst year for measles in 35 years. It also orders the MMR vaccine split into three separate shots that no pharmaceutical company produces and the FDA has never approved.

He told parents while signing the order that the measles vaccine could be “quite lethal,” with no pediatrician in the room and a conservative lifestyle influencer at his side. The American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the company that makes the vaccine all said the same thing within hours: Trump’s order endangers children.
