Forty days later, on a Friday night, his Justice Department filed a two-line notice appealing the ruling that Donald Trump sued himself and the government never defended the case. The department’s first appearance is to appeal the finding that it never appeared.

Trump, his family, and his company never lost their IRS shield, and last week, a second judge ordered the government to name who created the fund in the first place. Despite his promises, Todd Blanche remains the 88th attorney general of the United States.
